Chadwick Boseman’s widow accepted her late husband’s Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama on Sunday. Taylor Simone Ledward, through tears, accepted the honor for Boseman’s riveting portrayal of Levee Green in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
In her speech, Ledward delivered the words she thought her husband would say if he were still living.
“He would thank God, he would thank his parents, he would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices,” she said. “He would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify that little voice inside of us that tells us all to keep going.”

This was the saddest thing I’ve ever seen but much respect to Taylor Simone Ledward for keeping it together and speaking eloquently about her beloved, talented husband. #GoldenGlobes
