Walker’s Legacy Establishes $25,000 Scholarship Fund for Howard University Female Student Entrepreneurs

The Howard University School of Business has announced the launch of Walker’s Legacy Scholarship for Enterprising Women.

Walker’s Legacy Scholarship is a $25,000 fund that will help support enterprising students who are enrolled at the Howard University School of Business over the next five years. Founded by Howard University alumna Natalie Madeira Cofield, Walker’s Legacy is the largest digital platform for multicultural women in business.

“My time at the Howard University School of Business molded me into the woman that I am today,” said Cofield in a written statement. “We look forward to supporting women from the nation’s most prestigious HBCU this school year and beyond.”

For the next five years, two Howard University students will receive a one-time award in the amount of $2,500. Awardees of the Walker’s Legacy Scholarship for Enterprising Women will also receive a lifetime membership to Walker’s Legacy. This will include complimentary access to all Walker’s Legacy programming for the scholarship award year; mentorship by Cofield, Walker’s Legacy founder & CEO; and access to support resources and networks.

“This fund showcases the commitment of Walker’s Legacy to empowering future female entrepreneurs,” said Yuvay Meyers Ferguson, Ph.D., assistant dean of impact and engagement at Howard University School of Business.

“Championed by our very own graduate, CEO Natalie Cofield, this gift continues the legacy of empowerment that is proven to skyrocket the trajectory of Howard University’s School of Business students. We are proud that our students will be able to further their entrepreneurial aspirations with the support of these grants as they become the business leaders of the future.”
